Mission Springs Water District is honored to be a designated Groundwater Guardian through the Groundwater Guardian program of The Groundwater Foundation, an internationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering communities about groundwater protection.
As a Groundwater Guardian, we are part of a nationwide network of communities, agencies, educators, businesses, and local partners working together to protect one of our region’s most precious resources... groundwater, which supplies the vast majority of our drinking water in the Coachella Valley.

Education is at the heart of our Groundwater Guardian activities. We partner with schools and educational organizations to bring interactive learning opportunities and hands-on experiences that help students understand how groundwater works, why it matters, and how each person can make a difference. These efforts create awareness, build lifelong conservation habits, and strengthen our community’s connection to the water that sustains us.
Everyone has a role to play in protecting our groundwater. We encourage students, teachers, families, and community members to participate in our educational programs, attend outreach events, join us on one of our tours, and adopt everyday water-wise habits that support a healthier water future for all.
