The proposed Assessment District 18 (AD 18) sewer project ballot results are as follows:

59.83% in favor - dollar value in favor $2,684,755.08
40.17% opposed - dollar value opposed $1,802,914.82

The “Notice of Assessment” was recorded with the County of Riverside Assessor-Clerk Recorder in December 2019.

Assessment District 18 (AD18) is a proposed sewer collection system expansion affecting properties identified in the AD18 Benefit Areas map. This page will be updated periodically as new information becomes available.

If you received an information brochure in the mail, your property is located in the project benefit area. If you did not receive a brochure in the mail, you are either NOT in the project benefit area OR the County mailing database did not provide your correct mailing address. If you feel you should be included in the project area and did not receive a mailer, please contact our Public Affairs Dept. at 760.329.6448, ext. 145, so we can correct your mailing information.

Sunday, May 26, 2019 Survey of interest mailed to property owners and posted online. Electronic surveys can be submitted through the website.
July 15, 2019, 3 p.m. Surveys presented to the MSWD Board of directors for consideration of moving forward with the balloting process. If surveys indicate enough interest in the proposed project, MSWD staff will bring an action item to the Board in July for proceed with the balloting process.
Monday, September 16, 2019 MSWD Board public hearing to adopt the Resolution of Intention to form Assessment District 18 and to mail ballots to affected property owners. Ballots will be mailed to the address on record from the most recent Riverside County tax database (including any corrections from property owners directly to MSWD).

Monday, November 18, 2019, 1 p.m. AD18  Public Hearing at the regular meeting of the MSWD Board of Directors Ballots received will be counted by MSWD and staff consulting team. Property owners are welcome to observe process. The majority of ballots weighted on financial commitment in favor or against will prevail.
Wednesday, January 1, 2020 If Assessment District 18 is formed, MSWD will proceed with solicitation of grant funding to construct project. Grant funding is awarded to MSWD incrementally. Construction will commence based on analyses of priority areas and the “10-point criteria” scoring.
