Protecting Groundwater. Improving Infrastructure. Building a Sustainable Future.
Mission Springs Water District is proud to advance the M2 Septic to Sewer Project, a major investment in groundwater protection, public health, and long-term infrastructure reliability. The project will connect approximately 695 properties to the MSWD sewer system, replacing aging septic systems and helping protect local groundwater resources. Construction is funded through a State of California Proposition 1 grant.
Project Benefits
- Protect Groundwater – Replacing septic systems reduces the potential for contaminants to reach the local groundwater basin.
- Modernize Infrastructure – Expands reliable sewer service to hundreds of properties for decades to come.
- Support Sustainability – Directs wastewater to MSWD treatment facilities, improving wastewater management and supporting groundwater recharge.
- Enhance Community Health – Reduces environmental impacts and improves quality of life throughout the project area.
Through strategic planning and successful grant funding, MSWD is delivering critical infrastructure improvements while minimizing costs to the community and advancing regional groundwater protection goals.
Construction Beginning August 2026
MSWD anticipates construction activities for the first grouping of homes within the project to begin in August 2026. Residents within the project area will receive additional information regarding schedules, construction impacts, and project updates as work approaches. This area includes homes and parcels on parts of Dillion, Bubbling Wells, San Jacinto, San Antonio, San Thomas, and San Andreas Streets. See below for a detailed map.
