MSWD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. Directors are elected in odd-numbered years to serve four-year terms. The terms are staggered, with two Directors to be elected in 2009 and three to be elected in 2011.

All Directors are appointed to Board committees and are liaisons to other governmental and community boards as well as regional and national associations and organizations.
