Community outreach and education is an important part of the District’s mission to provide, protect and preserve our precious groundwater. In addition to holding the informative and popular WISG sessions and bringing natural sciences to local school children through participating in Groundwater Guardian programs, the District actively participates in various community events.
Some events where you will find MSWD are the annual Festival of the Waters, presented by the Desert Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce, and the CA Desert Nature Festival and Educator’s Fall Festival, both presented by the Natural Science Collaborative of the Desert Region (NSCDR). Participating in these events builds positive community ties and provides the community with important information about water conservation and our unique and fascinating environment. MSWD also enjoys positive, cooperative relationships with local educational organizations such as the California Regional Environmental Education Community (CREEC), Caliso Learning and the Desert Horticultural Society.
In this section you will find a Calendar of Events listing special events as well as the MSWD Board of Directors meetings, which the public is welcome to attend. The photos page contains pictures from various District events and projects.
