Becoming water wise is a fun and rewarding venture that suits a variety of age groups, from adults to elementary grade students. For that reason, MSWD offers citizens of all ages many enjoyable opportunities to learn more about water and become water wise.
For educators:
MSWD invites you to call on us as a resource in your natural sciences education programs. MSWD staff is available to judge science fairs and to be a resource to students creating science fair projects. MSWD recently hosted its first annual Water Conservation Poster contest celebrating Water Awareness Month, which is May. The District provided art supplies to participating 4th - 6th grade classrooms in Desert Hot Springs, and subsequently received over 100 poster entries from talented students! Many thanks to the teachers who encouraged their students to participate in the contest! Photos of the winning entries may be found on the poster contest page. If you are hosting a school program in the Desert Hot Springs area and would like MSWD to participate, please contact us with your request.
For students: Ready - Set - Learn! Check out the Kids’ Corner for everything from water topics to use in your science fair project to fun activity sheets and projects to do and learn about water.
